Summer Day Camp 2024: Detailed Info

The Fourth Place provides a growing slate of Youth Programs to local Middle School and High School Programs. We expect to launch our first Summer Day Camp during summer vacation 2024, for any locals kids fishing Grade 6 through 11 in 2024.

We are in the application process to be certified by NH DHHS as a Youth Recreation Day Camp for Summer 2024. For this program all staff working directly with youth will be background checked, and central registry checked, and at least one scheduled staff member at a time will be CPR trained. (This is not yet a licensed Youth Recreation Camp at this time.)

Questions & Feedback: If you have questions about the program, or feedback on what would make it more accessible for your student, please email ian@thefourthplaceforgeeks.com or call 617-917-4261.

Full summer program saves 42% per week versus two-week pricing, and ~35% off six week pricing. Options for seven to nine weeks are not listed as they would cost more than the full program.

If you select a weekly option, we will contact you to confirm the weeks your child will have access to the program. These weeks must be scheduled in advance so we can guarantee staffing levels.

Registration:

Registrations by March 26 will determine the scale and viability of the program. There may be limited spaces available after that date, but they will be more expensive and much more limited as initial registrations will determine staffing levels and ratios are pre-determined.

For Richmond School parents who sign-up early (Feb. 29), and our full Members who sign up on time (March 26), we will offer special pricing of 10% off the standard rate. There will be a limited number of seats available. Spaces will be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis based on when you submit the registration form.

Semi-Structured Supervised Program

  • Summer Day Camp is partially structured with a variety of activities, self-started or staff-assisted, available thoughout the day
  • This lies between fully structured After School Clubs, and unstructured hanging out at The Fourth Place, that kids are parents are familiar with now
  • Summer Day Camp has one dedicated adult supervisor for every 10-19 kids, except during staff breaks or absences, when they may have one non-dedicated adult.
  • D&D Clubs have one adult supervisor for every 4-6 kids, for a structured story experience. Magic League has non-dedicated adult supervision for 4-12 kids.
  • Summer Day Camp is a full day (8:00 am to 4:00 pm) with a variety of structured and unstructured activities, supervised and facilitated by staff
  • After School Clubs are 2-3 hours each after school, with a small group supervised and an activity managed fully by a staff member
  • Summer Day Camp has flexible scheduling, so you can drop-off and pick-up your kids each day as suits your schedule (8:00 am to 10:00 pm)
  • After School Clubs are a fully structured activity for the scheduled hours, so arriving late, leaving early, and missing sessions can be disruptive.

Flexible Scheduling:

  • Program and activities are available 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, fully supervised
  • Students are welcome to stay as late at 10:00 pm daily with included limited membership, partially supervised after 4:00 pm
  • Drop of and Pick up your kids any time 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, as suits your schedule
  • Choose which weeks your kids attend the program with full summer or weekly pricing

Financial Assistance: We want our programs to be accessible for as many people as possible, and for the Place to be for everyone, not everyone with a lot of money. Richmond School families seeking financial assistance can speak with John LaCrosse. We also hope to be eligible for grants for low-income families for our Summer Camp. If you still need assistance after those options please email ian@thefourthplacehanover.com and we will work something out.
