Just Redundant Enough

Inspired by existing toolkits, we built GREEN +PLUS GREAT MORE to help you:

• Prepare everyone ahead of game
• Check in with other players when needed
• Respond in ways everyone can understand
• Including colors, words, symbols, and gesture art by Zoe Garner
• Learn Lines & Veils, Check-ins, Opt-in and Opt-out, and more techniques
• Teach others these tools

Attribution & Thanks

The idea for this simple and colorful set of cards began when we launched our online D&D campaign show, Heroes of Four Worlds, but it draws on decades of combined experience in tabletop RPGs, Live-Action Roleplaying, and community-building, and feedback from the players, experts, and our online community.

What we came up with is GREEN +PLUS GREAT MORE, a set of six simple cards that use distinctive colors, symbols, text, and gestures— shown on the cards with character art by the great Zoe Garner (a.k.a. SketchBunnyPlus) to communicate all of the concepts your table chooses to use.

GREEN +PLUS GREAT MORE incorporates and adapts concepts and mechanics that have been growing in popularity in gaming communities, and provides simple and clear cards to help remember the concepts, calibrate while playing, and check-in on each other.

We did not create these concepts, and owe a debt of gratitude to those who came before us and inspired our updated system:

LINES and VEILS were first mentioned in Ron Edwards’ “Sex and Sorcery”. For a take from Ron himself, check out this interview. For more information, check out this article.

The X-CARD was developed by John Stavropoulos. For more information, check out this document.

OK CHECK-IN was originally created by Rob McDiarmid and applied by Aaron Vanek, and the system we adapted was created by Maury Brown for New World Magischola. For more information, check out this article.

OUR THANKS to Sarah Lynne Bowman, Maury Brown, Kari Jo Freudigmann, Tucker Le, Clove, and Eric Willisson for introducing us to various concepts used or adapted in G+GM and for their feedback.

SPECIAL THANKS to some special Kickstarter backers who helped make G+GM a reality: Gaming Underground, Christopher J., Christian Lappin, two beautiful Unicorns Ian & Emma, Eric, Antonio V., Ian M., Tucker, Jonathan "Buddha" Davis, Troy Sandlin, Mike Fatum, Fyora, Curse of Sebs, LiselleMade, Mx.
